Heating and Cooling in Pacific, MO

Pacific sits 58 minutes and about 46 miles from our Hermann office, so we treat heating and cooling in Pacific as planned work, not a quick stop. Booked tune-ups and scheduled furnace or AC replacements are where that drive makes sense. Call first and we will tell you plainly whether we can reach your address.

A county line runs through this town. Most of Pacific lies in eastern Franklin County, the rest reaches into St. Louis County, and the city counted 7,414 people in 2020. The ZIP is 63069. We are a Hermann company, not a Pacific shop, and businesses closer to you can get there sooner. What we offer here is careful, scheduled work.

Meramec bottoms and old Route 66 blocks

Pacific has two kinds of risk inside one small city. The south side is low ground by the Meramec River, with Brush Creek and Fox Creek also running through town. The river flooded that end of Pacific in 1895, 1915 and 1982, so basement equipment there deserves a hard look.

The recent record is worse. NPR reported that more than 300 homes flooded here in December 2015, with the Meramec reaching the railroad tracks in the heart of old downtown. In 2008 the mayor at the time counted 187 homes badly damaged by that March's flood, and a May 2017 report put the river about 18 feet above flood stage. Pacific was bracing for another crest in April 2025. Any furnace, water heater or air handler in a low basement here has a real chance of meeting water during its service life, so treat its location as part of the buying decision.

Older blocks grew up around the Pacific Railroad, which arrived in 1853 and gave the town its name. A house near Osage Street, the old Route 66 alignment, can be far older than any ductwork in it. Those runs were added later and often fit the space better than the load.

Heating and cooling in Pacific: what suits the drive

  • Furnace replacement: a dated install lets you settle where a low-basement unit should sit, and whether raising it above the 2015 water line is worth the added ductwork and venting.
  • AC replacement: valley humidity punishes an oversized unit, so the sizing needs a Manual J, not a guess from the old nameplate.
  • Furnace maintenance: a fall tune-up books easily ahead of freeze season, and a 46 mile drive is far easier to plan in September than in the first cold snap.
  • Duct repair: add-on runs in old railroad-era houses leak at the joints. Ducts that took flood water hold silt, so look inside before you seal them.
  • Commercial HVAC maintenance: Osage Street storefronts can set visits around their hours, and a dated service file helps a business whose insurer asks about equipment after high water.
  • Air duct cleaning: worth a look after floodwater or a basement renovation has reached the returns, and rarely needed otherwise, so ask what it will fix first.

Booking from 46 miles out

Phone (209) 563-1270 before you plan around us. The office is open weekdays from 8 to 4. Give us your street, the side of the county line you are on and the model number from the data plate, and we can load likely parts or tell you the job does not fit.

A surprise breakdown is a harder match. If your family needs heat tonight, a company nearer Pacific will usually reach you first, and you should call one.

Highway 100, I-44 and the permit question

We come east on Highway 100 through New Haven and Washington, then pick up I-44 at Gray Summit for the last few miles. Ask Pacific City Hall about permits before work begins, because Missouri leaves those rules to local government and your side of the county line may matter.

We have no Pacific project to show you. What we can state is simple: an office at 124 E 10th St in Hermann, in business since 1998, and 4.7 stars from 15 Google reviews as of November 2026. Our Franklin County page covers the towns nearer us.

What customers say on Google

4.7 on Google(15 reviews)
“Hot water heater went out and Brian worked with us to help us find the correct replacement parts, and the repair process. He is knowledgeable, reliable and very responsive. He came out saw that we needed one more possible part and said he wouldn’t charge us labor until the water heater was up and running. We got the right parts he came out to install and had us up and running! We will definitely rely on him again for any future issues with HVAC, water heater, and or plumbing issues! It’s so nice to have hot water again!”

“I can’t say enough good about Brian and his company. They are my go to guy’s. I’ve had them work for me about a half dozen times now. No need to look elsewhere. They are fair and responsive to your needs.”

Good to know

Pacific heating and cooling questions

My home is on the St. Louis County side of Pacific. Can you still come?

Possibly, so ask before you plan around it. About 1.7 square miles of Pacific lie in St. Louis County, and the drive is much the same from Hermann. The difference is paperwork, because permit rules can follow the county line. Tell us your street and we will confirm the visit, and check with Pacific City Hall about the permit.

Should I move my furnace when I replace it in a flood-prone Pacific basement?

Price it both ways before you decide. A new furnace set back in the same low spot carries the same risk the old one had, and the Meramec has reached south Pacific more than once. A raised platform or another location adds cost on install day. We will quote the work before we start, with the options side by side.
